Akash Deep se afrigter het gesê - Omstandighede het hom geleer om te veg: Hy is 'n lang resiesperd

Coach Saurasish Lahiri of fast bowler Akash Deep says that Akash has the ability and skill to play in all three formats for India. He asserts his identity as a relentless fast bowler. He has been taught to fight by circumstances. Akash took three crucial wickets in England's first innings in the Ranchi Test.

Saurasish describes Akash's struggle, saying a lot happened in his family. His father passed away, followed by his elder brother six months later. In such a situation, all responsibilities fell on his shoulders. He assumed responsibility for the entire family, including his mother and sister-in-law, while also staying committed to his cricket pursuits. Akash maintained his usual resilience and adaptability, pressing forward as he typically does.
"We knew he would bowl this way," the coach remarked after seeing Akash's performance. He always bowls the same way. His length, pace, and style are all constant. His behavior is not unusual. He has played like he has consistently performed in first-class cricket over the past few years. We are happy that he demonstrated his abilities on a major cricket platform. He did not panic over the situation; instead, he enjoyed it.

His mother and the whole family were present for his debut in Ranchi.
Akash showcased his talents on a global scale.Akash Deep was given his debut cap by Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Indian team, during the Ranchi Test.

He will play in all three formats for India.

Saurasish says that Akash is a long racehorse. He has the ability and skill to play in all three formats for India. He is physically very strong and has a lot of willpower. He has a long bowling streak. Mentally, he never gives up. When fast bowlers struggle in Indian conditions and don't get wickets, they start to think nothing is happening here. Akash is not the type of bowler to give up. He bowls fast and never gives up.

The credit for Akash's success goes to Sourav Ganguly.

The coach gives credit to Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain, for Akash's accomplishment. He said I first saw him in 2017. After my retirement, the Bengal Cricket Association appointed me as the coach of the Under-23 team and gave me the responsibility to form the team.

Former cricketer Jaydeep Mukherjee said that a boy from Bihar playing for Bengal United Club was talented. They used to play tennis, ball cricket, etc. I called him to bowl in the nets. I saw that he had a good pace in his bowling. I included him in the Bengal Under-23 team. Then the season ended, and there was a long gap.

When Akash returned for the next season, he was struggling with a back injury. I wanted to include him in the team, but the selectors were not convinced. In such a situation, I talked to Sourav Ganguly and said that the boy is talented but injured right now. Keeping him on the team is our objective. Ganguly said that if you think he can deliver later, then the whole cabal supports him.

After his return, Akash led the team to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final. Then he was selected for the India team for the Under-23 tour of Australia. After returning from there, he made his debut in Bengal's Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I took four wickets in the last two matches. Subsequent to that, he never looked back.

I was aware he'd receive a chance.

The coach says about the selection in the Test team that I had information that he would get an opportunity in the India team. Akash had been performing well for over a year. He was selected for the One Day team on the South Africa tour. However, he did not play. After returning from there, he did well in domestic cricket as well. Last year, he was the top wicket-taker in domestic cricket. Did well against the England Lions too.

I knew he was in a good place right now; the coaching staff and players liked him. When the team was announced for the last three Test matches against England, we were playing a Ranji match in Trivandrum. I informed him during the match.

Stamp-to-stump Akash's specialty

Describing Akash Deep's specialty, the coach says he has the skill to dismiss batsmen like Shami and Bumrah in Indian conditions. The best thing about Akash is that he bowls stump-to-stump. He has pace and movement.

He can beat the batsman both inside and outside, creating chances for wickets. We have seen how Bumrah and Shami take wickets on slow pitches in Indian conditions. They trouble the batsmen with both pace and swing. Akash is showing all this.
